Damanhurian artists, Pangolino Tulipano and Opossum Spinacio, are exhibiting their paintings at the prestigious biannual Art Exhibition in Saint Petersburg. Pangolino and Opossum were introduced as members of the Federation of Communities of Damanhur and presented as two of the greatest representatives of Italian Contemporary Art.
They displayed various works of art using a painting technique called 'Informal', a term coined after World War II, representative of abstract paintings expressing emotions, values, and states of consciousness. The use of color, different materials and movement is of primary importance in this style of painting.
Pangolino and Opossum have always used different techniques and an experimental approach in their art. They have used hands and fingers instead of brushes, and spatulas, trowels, compressors, industrial polishes, to convey a gesture on to a painted canvas. They have worked in rigorous silence transforming their energy and state of awareness into their art.
