I have returned from the meeting of the Italian Ecovillage Network (Rive) with a great sense of appreciation for the things we are doing at Damanhur and the diversity of the ecovillages in Italy.
Macaco and I went to Torri Superiore in the Ligura region from January 29 - 30, 2011. Driving down along the Ventimiglia coast, I sensed the energy of the water and the sea, soft and welcoming, and the landscape green and vibrant - a few palms here and there, and in the valley, mimosa flowers already in bloom. Torri Superiore is a small medieval village with lots of Germans, children (9 kids and 12 adults) and two donkeys, which offers hospitality and courses on permaculture and communication.
I quickly got to know lots of people and the characteristics of the Italian ecovillages: the simplicity and freedom of the Elfi (Elves), the political-practical vision of Bagnaia, the maternal family-oriented environment of Torri.

The outreach team of Damanhur's Ambassadors has traveled extensively in past months, with Crotalo Sesamo offering courses in Sedona, Arizona USA as well as Russia.
This coming February, Damanhur shall offer events in Mexico for the first time: in Mexico City and Cancun, with Crotalo and Shama. The popular "Politics and Spirituality" course shall be held, which explores the basic principles for creating a successful community. Many are following the call to come together and create communities with specific aims and interests, enjoying an exploration of the questions and process. Also a first level Past Lives course shall be held in Cancun, with 14 participants already registered.
A six-day intensive retreat with Damanhurian activities was led by Esperide Ananas in Brazil at Fazenda Juerana Milagrosa in Bahia. The center of 182 hectares was acquired 10 years ago by our friends Catarina and Zsolt, in order to safeguard the lands. They also run the Avis Rara center in Campinas. The 12 participants of the retreat experienced Damanhurian techniques and philosophy as well as evening meditations.

The Global Ecovillage Network - Europe council meeting was held at Findhorn in November of 2010. The ambiance of the community created a pleasant and inspiring backdrop for the council to meet and work. Ana from the Findhorn Foundation led a group dynamic for developing communication and leadership, as well as defining roles within the council. This and other intense activity during the meeting has solidified the base of collaboration for GEN Europe's council.

Capra Carruba, Formica Coriandolo and Macaco Tamerice went to Findhorn in Scotland from November 14 - 21, 2010 to participate in the fourth meeting of the Learning Partnership Project, which gathers participants from many organizations: Damanhur, Findhorn, Sieben Linden, GEN Europe, the Hub Brussels, the Transition Town Network, the Center for Human Emergence and the Permaculture Institute.

An event was held with Selfic paintings on the island of Maui on Monday, October 4. Esperide Ananas, in collaboration with American friends, created a "cabin" of Selfic paintings and guided a meditation to enter into contact with the Temples of Humankind, activating a connection between the energies of Maui and those of Damanhur.
After Esperide's presentation, an evening event was held as an inauguration for the new Selfic cabin, with musicians playing traditional Hawaiian music, dance and a video-showing of the Temples.

From August 30 - September 6, 2010, Damanhur, represented by Quaglia, participated in Burning Man, a week-long event with principles of radical self-reliance, social interconnectedness, creative expression and Leave No Trace ecology in the Black Rock desert of Nevada, USA.
Quaglia camped with the Heebeegeebee Healers theme camp, a grounded and sacred space providing healing services and classes for Black Rock City. She offered pranatherapy sessions and held several talks on Damanhur's community life, spiritual philosophy and the Temples of Humankind throughout the week.
