To integrate the founding principles established by the Constitution, Damanhurian philosophy summarises in eight Quests the steps in human spiritual growth to be taken by every Damanhurian.
The Quests are dynamic formulas, themes for meditation and practical application. Their formulation is the result of the collective achievements in Damanhur but each person interprets them according to their own talents and characteristics. The First Quest places importance on action and choice in order to live life to the full with purity of intent.
The Second Quest requires constancy and continuity, in order to give meaning and weight to the choices made, and underlines the importance of keeping one’s word.
The Third Quest invites a change of logic in order to be open to new visions of oneself, life and the sacred dimension of our existence. This is the first step in the creation of a civilisation and a culture.
The Fourth Quest, specifically feminine in character, encourages men and women to discover their feminine side, their availability and profound awareness of representing a stable element of union.
The Fifth Quest, on the other hand, brings attention to the masculine aspects, to the ability to live in constant, harmonious inner revolution.
The Sixth invites the union of the male and female principle within oneself, in order to activate one’s own power of creation, not only of life itself, but also its representation through art and creativity, generosity and goodness.
The Seventh Quest requires one to make use of doubt and adaptability as research tools to abandon all dogmas and certainties in order to discover what is real inside oneself, beyond all appearances. Finally, the Eighth Quest opens to up the others by integrating all the preceding Quests. It speaks of Love and of teaching as tools to change the world around oneself, of study as a spiritual necessity and of the irreversible choice of one’s own ideal, in order be of service to the world and achieve the re-awakening of one’s own divine principle.

Summarised very briefly, these are the formulas of the Eight Quests: 1. Act in order to Be, with purity. 2. Continue to act, in order to continue to be. 3. Change logic in order to transform yourself, from Me to Us. 4. Be aware, be available. 5. Revolutionise your inner self, harmoniously. 6. Become the artist of your own life. 7. Search for what is True, beyond all certainties. 8. Choose the Ideal and open up to others with Love. |
