The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) awarded the Green Flag to the nursery school children of the Damanhur School for their project: A Garden for Discovering Biodiversity. The three-to-six year olds of the "Piriporo" class received the Green Flag during an award ceremony at the school.

The children explained the work they had done during the previous school year cultivating the garden. Their presentation was illustrated with drawings they had made during various phases of the project. The children explained the process of planting the seeds and growing sprouts, defending them from hungry animals, and finally eating and enjoying the fruits of their labors.
